Hospital IT restrictions addressed explicitly

Many hospital computers block ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI platforms. This is not a barrier — it's a teaching point. We cover what works on locked-down hospital systems (Microsoft Copilot in Microsoft 365) and what works on your personal device. You leave knowing exactly what you can use, where, and how to advocate for appropriate access.

Week 1

1
Live sessionEA60 min

The Diagnostic Prompt™ — AI as Thinking Partner, Foundations & Structured Prompting

This is the anchor session of the series. The Diagnostic Prompt is introduced as a named, repeatable clinical framework: before asking AI to produce anything, let AI interrogate your thinking. The Socratic parallel is drawn explicitly — a good clinical history requires the clinician to ask the right questions; here, the clinician learns to become the patient, and AI becomes the consultant extracting clarity. Live demonstration with side-by-side comparison of Claude, ChatGPT/GPT-4o, and Gemini. Perplexity AI introduced for real-time cited answers on shift.

2
Self-directedRP60 min

Applying The Diagnostic Prompt™ to a Real Clinical Problem

Participant selects one genuine problem from their clinical practice — a documentation challenge, a recurring communication task, or an administrative burden — and applies The Diagnostic Prompt before attempting to solve it with AI. The AI's questions are recorded verbatim.

Week 2

3
Live sessionEA60 min

AI-Assisted Clinical Documentation, Patient Communication & Australian Compliance

Structured online teaching session covering AI ambient scribing tools, a three-step review protocol for AI-generated clinical documents, AI-assisted patient communication drafting (discharge summaries, letters, SMS recall), quality verification framework, Australian Privacy Principles, My Health Record obligations, and data residency considerations.

4
Self-directedRP60 min

Reflection on AI-Assisted Documentation & Patient Communication Drafting

Participant uses an AI ambient scribing tool for real clinical documentation tasks, applying the three-step review protocol. Participant also drafts one piece of patient communication using AI and applies the quality verification framework before using or sending it.

Week 3

5
Live sessionEA60 min

No-Code Workflow Automation — Connecting AI to Clinical Processes

Structured online teaching session covering workflow automation concepts (trigger, condition, action, output), live demonstration with Make.com building a clinical process automation, integrating Claude or ChatGPT into multi-step clinical workflows, human-in-loop checkpoint design, failure mode planning, and five high-value clinical automation patterns.

6
Self-directedMO60 min

Reflection on Automation Deployment in Practice

Participant builds and deploys one clinical workflow automation relevant to their practice. They run it with real or realistic data and document what it produced, what they corrected, and what impact it had on the clinical process.

Week 4

7
Live sessionEA60 min

Capstone — Peer Demonstration, CPD Recording & Ongoing Development

Structured online capstone session. Each participant presents a four-minute demonstration of their most impactful AI workflow; structured peer feedback exchanged; facilitator leads the CPD recording process and confirms each participant's evidence package; participants begin their capstone reflection document in-session.

8
Self-directedMO60 min

Capstone Reflection — Practice Change & Outcomes

Participant completes their capstone reflection document, integrating observations from all four weeks into a structured account of practice change and outcomes.
